Leigh Redman was born and has lived, all his life in Bridgwater. He has worked hard as a local community champion & Councillor for more than 30 years.

Bridgwater Hamp is special for so many reasons, the people the neighbourhood the spaces are all special, Hamp really is the beating heart of our town.

A truly local person with a life long history in the town, a demonstrable record of community achievements, Leigh wants to build on the work he has already started, most of you will know how hard he works. Getting re=elected in Hamp is important to him.

When asked about being the Labour candidate Leigh said:

I’m standing for re‑election because there’s still important work to do, and much of it happens quietly behind the scenes. Over this term I’ve focused on the things that don’t make headlines but make a real difference – supporting children with additional needs, helping families through school appeals, resolving anti‑social behaviour by bringing the right partners together, and guiding older residents through complex housing moves.

I’ve spent countless hours reading, questioning and challenging council policies so they work better for local people. It’s not glamorous, but it matters. I want to keep doing that steady, detailed work that strengthens our community and helps people when they need it most. None of this happens by accident – it takes commitment, persistence and a genuine focus on getting the job done for Bridgwater.
